Vijay Pahuja takes the QX Global Group CEO seat after building insurance and FS books at Sutherland, WNS, Cognizant, and IBM

Effective July 21, the India-origin services operator leads Long Ridge–backed QX, a mid-market finance, accounting, and recruitment KPO with delivery across India and the Americas. The pattern diaspora readers know: own a hard vertical, then take the group P&L.

QX Global Group named Vijay Pahuja Group Chief Executive Officer effective July 21, 2026, in a Business Wire release dated London and New York. The Long Ridge Equity Partners–backed knowledge process outsourcing firm sells AI-enabled finance, accounting, recruitment, and industry knowledge services to mid-market clients across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. For Indian American and other diaspora professionals in global services, the hire is a familiar corridor: run hard financial-services and insurance verticals at scale, then take the group seat.

Pahuja succeeds Pom Chakravarti, who led QX as CEO since 2024. Chakravarti stays on the QX Global Board and as a senior executive focused on strategic client relationships. That handoff keeps institutional memory on the client book while Pahuja owns the growth and AI productization brief. Long Ridge Partner Angad Singh framed the appointment as an acceleration signal: invest in technologies that make the services better, and scale into categories where QX already has a right to lead.

His résumé is a classic India-to-global services operating stack. He joins from Sutherland Global Services, where he led a portfolio of financial-services and insurance verticals and helped build the insurance book into a market-leading franchise with agentic AI delivery at scale. Earlier senior seats at WNS, Cognizant, and IBM put him on the same dual clock diaspora operators know well: Western client P&Ls paired with India and global delivery. Press materials also note earlier experience at Fidelity Investments across strategy, operations, automation, M&A, and large enterprise transformation.

QX is not a pure India-listed analytics play. Company materials describe more than 3,000 professionals across India, the UK, the United States, and Latin America, with U.S. regional headquarters in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and deep specialization in accounting firms, real estate, and staffing, plus faster-growing practices in insurance broking, hospitality, CPG and retail, and manufacturing. Its consulting arm, Chazey Partners, adds shared-services and intelligent-automation advisory. Chairman Abid Neemuchwala, the former Wipro CEO, said Pahuja brings commercial depth, operational discipline, and a clear view of how AI will reshape knowledge services.

The AI brief is the board’s near-term scorecard. Coverage says Pahuja inherits an acceleration lab, agentic architecture, and purpose-built platforms already running in live client environments. His stated focus is scaling what works and selling outcomes clients can measure in margins and growth without a one-for-one headcount rise. That is the mid-market KPO thesis of 2026: AI does volume work; practitioners keep judgment and accountability.

Private-equity ownership shapes the calendar. Long Ridge, founded in 2007 and focused on financial and business technology, says it manages more than $1.7 billion of committed capital. QX earlier secured a growth investment of more than £100 million from the firm to expand platform capabilities. A PE-backed CEO seat usually means clearer growth targets, sharper product bets, and less patience for soft AI slide decks that do not show up in client retention or gross margin.

For diaspora readers building careers in BPM, KPO, consulting, or AI-enabled services, the useful sequence is visible in the résumé. Own a vertical with real revenue and delivery accountability, learn how AI changes unit economics without breaking client trust, stay close to the market that pays the invoices, and treat dual-hq succession as a multi-year plan. Keep the household file current when the employer’s center of gravity spans India delivery and U.S. or UK clients: benefits, tax residency questions, and family support do not update themselves when a Business Wire release lands.

An appointment is not a guarantee of smoother quarters. QX still has to convert AI tooling into durable margins, deepen insurance and other growth verticals, and keep mid-market clients through budget cycles. Pahuja’s hire does show where PE-backed services boards are looking: operators who have already owned FS and insurance books under AI pressure, not first-time generalists discovering delivery geography on day one.
