DC Startup and Tech Week's August Summer Happy Hour is the monthly momentum night ahead of the region's largest founder conference in October: founders, operators, investors, and ecosystem partners on a premium rooftop with beer, wine, light food, and a short teaser from leadership. The August 20 edition runs 6:00 to 8:00 PM. General admission is free on Luma, with space capped and priority framed for founders, innovators, investors, and stakeholders. Host copy aims for 150-plus people. The July rooftop already drew 120-plus and later listed as sold out past 250 on the series calendar, so treat capacity as real.

Rachel Koretsky and Chida Sadayappan founded the gathering in 2016 as DC Startup Week, a community for early founders who did not want to build in isolation next to the federal city. The organization is now in its 11th year, with the flagship conference set for October 19 to 23, 2026, and a year-round calendar that includes these summer rooftops. Darius Clair, Symone Husbands, and Kaelin Brittin also host the Luma listing.
