CBDA Dinner & Networking at Army Navy Country Club

The Capital Business Development Association dinner is a bimonthly govcon business-development night at Army Navy Country Club, where capture leads share opportunities, teaming ideas, and industry intelligence over drinks and a sit-down meal. The August 20 meeting runs 5:00 to 9:00 PM, with bar pre-game networking from 5:00. The host pitch is to meet the business developers you know and the ones you still need. For small and mid-tier contractors, those teaming intros often never appear on a public Meetup. They happen in rooms like this, under trust norms that started as informal nondisclosure among competitors who still wanted to collaborate.

CBDA is a Virginia-registered 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit focused on government-contracting firms of every size, from large systems integrators to small businesses working Defense, Intelligence Community, federal civilian, and state and local work. In June 2018, Dr. Charles Painter invited four BD professionals he already trusted to dinner in Fairfax. The group outgrew restaurants. Retired Air Force Brigadier General Tom Verbeck, now vice president, helped settle the dinners at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington. Membership has grown past 2,900. There are no dues.
