Greater Vancouver Board of Trade’s Today’s Media Landscape is a weekday SME breakfast, not a patio social. Tuesday, September 1, 2026, 8:00-9:30 AM at Citytv Vancouver, 180 West 2nd Avenue in Mount Pleasant. Registration and breakfast 8:00-8:30; program 8:30-9:30. Members pay $49 plus GST; non-members $79 plus GST. GVBOT and Rogers Sports & Media are looking at how Vancouver audiences have moved across radio, streaming, podcasts, and digital, and what that means for brands still trying to buy attention. Speakers listed are Chad Dey, Sales Manager, Media Business Unit, Rogers Sports & Media, and Peter Kambo, Senior Manager, Data Insights and Research, Rogers Sports & Media.

The Board of Trade dates to 1887, when 31 merchants, lumbermen, bankers, and manufacturers formed after the Great Fire of 1886. It is still the largest business association between Victoria and Toronto, with member employees on the order of one-third of B.C.’s workforce. This breakfast sits in the Business Growth Series from the Scale-up Centre for SMEs, GVBOT’s program for small and mid-size firms that need tools, expert rooms, and policy rather than another mixer. Immigrant Employment Council of BC appears on the event page as a partner resource: the nonprofit that helps B.C. employers hire and retain internationally trained talent. That pairing is the Circuit reason to show up when Ascend and HKCBA calendars are dark. It is also why the August patio social and Corporate Cup do not get leaves: those were drinks and a sports tournament. This one has a named media thesis and a price.

Mount Pleasant / West 2nd is False Creek production geography, not Howe Street and not Richmond. Citytv and Omni share the Rogers studio block near Olympic Village Station. For operators selling into Vancouver households, including Chinese, South Asian, Filipino, and Korean audiences who actually watch and stream local media, a Citytv breakfast is closer to the buy than a Gastown founder mixer. Credentialed immigrants who already sit in marketing, research, or SME ownership will recognize IEC-BC’s employer-facing brief. Do not treat the room as a settlement workshop. It is still a Board of Trade badge.

Register on boardoftrade.com/events/8131. Olympic Village Station on the Canada Line is the obvious SkyTrain hop; Mount Pleasant morning parking is paid and tight. Bring ID matching your registration. Ninety minutes total means you can still make a Downtown or Burnaby workday. Screenshot the confirmation. If you needed the attendee list, GVBOT gates that behind a member login.

This morning is right if you run or market a Lower Mainland SME and need a named media briefing at Board of Trade rates. Kimchi Festival the weekend before is the Coquitlam vendor floor if that was your graph. Use the breakfast block as introduction time; the panel is not a cold-pitch hour.
