Changbal Mentoring Day 2026

Changbal Society holds Mentoring Day on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the University of Washington Health Sciences Education Building, room 345, 1607 Northeast Pacific Street. Check-in opens at 1:30 PM; the host asks guests to finish check-in by 2:10. The afternoon closes a mentoring cohort that began September 28. The live host page calls it a seven-week journey, with a flashback block, two group-mentoring rounds, and keynotes. Speakers named on the host page include Dongkyu Kim, a software engineer at Google, on a PhD-to-SWE path without an internship, and Minkwon Choi, an AI solution engineer at Pinterest, on moves across AWS, Meta, and Pinterest plus the rising forward-deployed engineer lane. An optional networking block is listed for 6:30 to 10:00 PM near UW, venue still to be confirmed.

Changbal is the Pacific Northwest Korean-American tech professional society behind the annual Changbal Tech Summit. Mentoring Day is open to the 2026 cohort and to people who want mentoring even if they were not selected for the program; the FAQ on the page says yes to that path. Sponsors listed are Korea's Overseas Koreans Agency and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Seattle. This is a different Saturday room from KSEA's Energy & Data Forum at the Westin Bellevue the same day.
