LaunchBio’s Larger Than Life Science stop in San Diego is a two-part program, then happy hour, mini golf, and campus tours—Thursday, August 27, 2026, 4:00–7:00 PM PT at Longfellow’s Bioterra campus, 5897 Oberlin Drive on Sorrento Mesa. Session one is a fireside with Victoria Lewis of Medical Excellence Capital, moderated by Tom Fagley of EisnerAmper: her path from medicine and research into venture, fundraising and commercialization, what investors look for in founders, and how MEC supports companies beyond the check. Session two is a hands-on AI immersion with Sean Jungbluth, PhD, founder and CEO/CTO of BioKEA and an Anthropic Claude Community Ambassador for Science—practical AI for fundraising, market research, planning, and communications. After programming: appetizers and drinks, Pop UP Mini Golf’s San Diego–themed course, and Longfellow tours. Longfellow is the listed sponsor. Eventbrite tickets are free across Entrepreneur, Researcher, Industry, and Other tiers; space is limited. Enter name, title, and company exactly as you want them on the nametag, and do not fill additional-information fields until you are told to—or the host says you will not be registered.
Sorrento Mesa / Oberlin and Mira Mesa Boulevard is Circuit San Diego’s inland life-science cluster, not the Torrey Pines cliff labs. Bioterra is Longfellow Real Estate Partners’ roughly 325,000-square-foot campus. LaunchBio’s Larger Than Life Science series is the named national bio-startup program—knowledge, capital, and introductions across U.S. hubs—not a brewery mixer with a mini-golf gimmick glued on. It is not BVS’s vendor lunch (August 20, Alexandria) and not SABPA’s Sino-American picnic. If you only show up for golf, you are in the wrong room.
Thursday, August 27, 2026, 4:00–7:00 PM PT at 5897 Oberlin Drive. Register from the LaunchBio page through Eventbrite while inventory lasts. I-805 / Mira Mesa evening traffic is routine; leave buffer. Bring ID.
Treat mini golf as the after, not the reason. Free does not mean unlimited—screenshot your ticket.
This program is right if you are a life-science founder, scientist, or operator who wants VC plus practical AI in Sorrento Mesa. ACG’s racetrack afternoon was the week before. Deloitte Carmel Valley’s A&D capital-markets night is September 1.
