BVS Biotech Community Event at The Alexandria

BVS’s Biotech Community Event is a weekday Torrey Pines lunch for life-science researchers, operators, and vendors—Thursday, August 20, 2026, 11:00 AM–1:30 PM at Farmer & The Seahorse inside The Alexandria at Torrey Pines, 10996 Torreyana Road. Biotech Vendor Services Inc. moved the room indoors from the Tribute Garden because of heat. Expect vendor exhibits, lunch, and introductions among Alexandria tenants and nearby lab people. Admission is free for life-science job-related employees: researchers, scientists, purchasing, clinical, manufacturing, and other non-sales / non-BD roles at companies and institutes. Product and service providers who sell into life science—including BVS suppliers, BD/sales, marketing, lawyers, and consultants—pay $200 for access without an exhibitor table. Tables are sold separately on bvsconnection.com/events. Eventbrite lists no refunds.

Torrey Pines / Alexandria is Circuit San Diego’s core biotech mesa—the UC San Diego, Salk, Scripps Research, and Illumina gravity the hub already names. BVS is a named vendor-community host, not a generic Eventbrite mixer: scientists and suppliers actually share one lunch hour. It is not SABPA’s Sino-American picnic (August 15, Del Mar park) and not LaunchBio’s founder/VC program at Bioterra the following Thursday. Same afternoon as ACG San Diego’s members-only Day at the Races at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club (1:30–6:00 PM). You can theoretically drive south after lunch; do not stack casually in August coastal traffic.
