TMC Innovation Pints & Prototypes

Pints & Prototypes is TMC Innovation’s recurring medtech networking format: a late-afternoon room for medical device innovators, engineers, clinicians, and industry partners, usually with a guest speaker and a sponsor. The August 13, 2026 edition is supported by Medtronic, with a guest speaker invited to share a medtech career and product journey. Prior editions have used the Medical Device Labs space inside TMC Innovation Factory and have mixed a short talk with open networking and a drink; the August page is still light on speaker name, so treat the Medtronic sponsorship and the TMC host as the locked signal.

That host matters in Houston. The Texas Medical Center is routinely described as the world’s largest medical complex, with on the order of 100,000-plus campus workers and a dense stack of hospitals, schools, and research institutes. TMC Innovation sits on the commercialization and startup side of that campus: device labs, founder programming, and partner nights that are harder to fake with a Downtown Meetup. Medtronic’s presence raises the odds of serious device and clinical operators in the room rather than only generalist tech tourists.

Skip if you need oil-and-gas deal flow, a pan-Asian chamber orientation, or a software-only Ion mentor day; those are different basins. Bring a one-sentence description of your device, study, or partnership thesis, and be ready to talk regulation and clinical workflow, not only pitch narrative.
