HJCC's 49th Annual Samurai Classic runs Friday, October 9, 2026 at Hawaii Prince Golf Club in Ewa Beach. Registration and lunch begin at 9:30 AM, shotgun at 11:00 AM, banquet and awards at 6:00 PM. Format is an 18-hole three-player modified scramble. Team pricing on the live page runs roughly $750 Samurai, $2,000 Daimyo, and $2,500 Shogun; Samurai teams can add an on-course game package for about $75. Host copy marks the tournament sold out while still showing limited Shogun inventory, so email events@hjcc.org or Mai Shiomi at mai@hjcc.org for waitlist, remaining sponsor teams, prize donations, or volunteer paths rather than assuming an open public cart.

The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce is a Quad Chamber host, and Samurai Classic has been a signature fundraiser since the late 1970s. Net proceeds support chamber programs. That long franchise, plus a full day of lunch, on-course time, and banquet, is why the tournament clears Circuit for Honolulu even when mid-career mixer calendars run thin. Forty-nine years of repeats is the track-record bar: treat it as a chamber relationship day, not a casual public tee time.

This is right for HJCC members, Japanese American business owners, and Oahu corporate partners who golf or sponsor tables. Skip it if you need a free Downtown young-professionals night, a conference badge without a team entry, or a short evening mixer after work. The event is 21 and over. Guests who cannot clear a full Friday from morning registration through the 6:00 PM banquet will feel the schedule is too long.

Logistics stretch across Ewa Beach. Plan Fort Weaver Road traffic both ways, keep the day blocked through awards, and confirm whether your ask is a waitlist team, prize donation, or volunteer path before you email staff. Do not assume an open cart when the host already marks the field sold out. Re-check shotgun and banquet timing on hjcc.org closer to October 9 if HJCC posts updates.

If you also eyed Chinese Chamber / Chinatown Community Foundation golf on October 13, prefer Samurai for the denser HJCC franchise and use CCF when your Chinatown merchant relationships sit there. Start on the Samurai Classic page or the HJCC business calendar entry, and treat sponsorship or waitlist replies as the only reliable inventory path.
