ACG DFW Dealmakers: DEXIT, Deals & Disputes

Hosted by Association for Corporate Growth Dallas/Fort Worth

When
August 19, 2026 · 4:30-6:30 PM
Where
Park City Club, 5956 Sherry Lane, Dallas, TX 75225Dallas (Park Cities)

ACG DFW's August Dealmakers program is a middle-market deal room centered on Texas Business Courts and the companies relocating into the state. It runs Wednesday, August 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM at Park City Club, 5956 Sherry Lane in Dallas. The session, DEXIT, Deals & Disputes, covers what company moves into Texas mean for transactions and governance, how the new Business Courts work, which cases qualify and why it matters, and what executives and investors should know before a dispute starts, with the host framing the practical implications for transactions, governance, and risk management. Confirmed speakers include ACG DFW president Ben Riemer, a Bell Nunnally partner, and Judge Bill Whitehill of the Texas Business Court First Division. Members pay $75; nonmembers pay $115.

The Association for Corporate Growth is a durable national network for middle-market dealmakers: private equity, corporate development, bankers, lawyers, accountants, and advisers who actually close transactions. The Dallas/Fort Worth chapter's Dealmakers series is how that room gathers locally, and this program runs with named platinum, gold, and silver series sponsors rather than as a one-off promotion. Earlier Circuit scrapes found the chapter thin inside a shorter window; this August program is the concrete public date now available. It is useful beyond pure finance. Any operator selling, buying, or advising a growing company eventually meets forum-selection and dispute risk, whether the company is family-owned, PE-backed, or still founder-controlled.

This is right for CEOs, CFOs, investors, attorneys, and trusted advisers to middle-market companies, including diaspora founders whose businesses are expanding into or already operating in Texas. Skip it if you want a casual founder mixer, a consumer startup pitch night, or a beginner legal overview with no deal context. Arrive with one live question about where your contracts should land disputes, how relocation changes risk, or which Business Court facts your board still needs. The two-hour format rewards a prepared ask more than a stack of general introductions.

Park City Club sits in the Park Cities / Preston Hollow corridor, not Downtown or Legacy. Build rush-hour time into a 4:30 start and confirm parking or valet in the registration materials. Register on the official ACG DFW event page and do not invent a walk-up policy. If your September calendar already includes national Hispanic-business or TiE founder days, use this earlier evening for the legal and deal-structure conversation those larger rooms will not pause to explain.
